ISO 17025 - Laboratory accreditation

The ISO 17025 standard specifies the general requirements for the competence of laboratories carrying out tests and / or calibrations, including sampling, testing and calibration performed using standard methods, non-standard methods and techniques developed by the Laboratory.

Implementing ISO 17025 in the practice of testing laboratory involves such complex issues as:

  • Development and implementation of quality management system;
  • Assessment of technical competence directly, ie evaluation of personnel, the availability of the necessary equipment, reagents etc.;
  • Metrological evaluation of competence (the choice of methods of testing, implementation measures for ensuring convergence within the laboratory, etc.).

Expected benefits for testing and calibration Laboratories in the implementation of ISO 17025

  • Recognition of technical competence;
  • Improving the efficiency of operations;
  • The benefits of marketing;
  • The opportunity to participate in international certification, comparison, control tests;
  • Obtaining international recognition of test reports;
  • Ensuring consumer confidence in the quality of work performed by the laboratory.
